If someone were to sell a card with a SMR value of $10,000 - $20,000 would people here sell PWCC or Heritage Auction house?

PWCC only takes 8% vs Heritage 20%...easy decision.
And, I'd rather buy from PWCC (having purchased from both). More flexible payment options, faster shipping.

Does everyone think the number of people who see it is more also? Thanks.
In my opinion, REA and Small Traditions are also pretty good options as they seem to get very high sale prices, too. Particularly REA...
With a card worth that much, I would also consider discussing a listing fee as opposed to a percentage. Cards like yours end up 'headlining' an auction so use that as power to negotiate the percentage you give up. If it's a card that 'draws a crowd' then I don't think it's wrong to ask about it.
As with any major transaction(car, home, boat), shop around and pick someone you are comfortable dealing with. Ask questions and require answers - in writing. Unless you've got bad intentions, you only get one shot to sell it so don't leave with regret or with too much money on the table.
Good luck!

Ive been using PWCC for about 6 months.... they are as crisp an operation around...I've met both Brent and his wife at the National in Chicago as well and I am happy my 8% goes to the likes of such fine folks....truly. I have been pleasantly surprised by the upside sales figures of the high grade vintage cards I have consigned~ VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.
Strange as all of mine set record lows However I don't think I would have received higher bids on my own, and they did all the work for a small percentage.
I think HA has much more of a reach and higher prices, but again if you add in the buyers/sellers fee, I'm not sure if its worth it on the bottom line.
.
Yeah.... sales are hit or miss I gather but a 12% disparity in commission is rotund!
I had a sale of a "67 Mantle PSA-9 on a PWCC auction in which the buyer didn't pay. PWCC stepped up to the plate and bought the card at the hammer price. It was relisted in the following auction and sold for $1600 less...so PWCC ended up eating the cost. PWCC is first class...
And I thought I was the only one! My PWCC results were absolutely brutal. Do agree that they are very easy to work with, but the auction start was delayed by a week, and they scrambled to get auctions ready on time. I think they are getting bit by their own success (i.e. similar to PSA, simply cannot keep up due to the demand). Also, the .99 starting bid can burn you. If you have a card that has a high value but not necessarily a ton of potential buyers, I'd only consign if the minimum bid was at or near your idea of a "reserve".
I've done business with Heritage before. Not really impressed with them. Once they have your stuff, it's pretty much "don't bother us until we get back to you". They'll do sports cards and comic books because it brings in supplemental revenue, but I get the impression they still look down on these hobbies. If they had it their way, I'm sure they'd rather stick to fine art and antiques where the real money is for them.
Others might have a different experience, but I personally wouldn't make them my first choice.
I think PWCC will do fine and could surprise you also. I have hit record highs and lows both as others have mentioned, but they have impressed me with everything involved from presentation to organization of their auctions.
Just curious with PWCC, is it 8% total or 8% after the shipping/eBay and Paypal fees...

Total
Consignment fees are here: https://www.pwccauctions.com/how-to-consign.
8% is only for $5000 and up individual graded cards. All rates are still better than selling yourself on ebay (unless you have items valued at less than $50).
Thanks, I appreciate the link. I was worried at first that I was thinking wrong of selling my collection by myself, but I don't have the $5k cards, just stuff under $100 so it's a bit cheaper for me to list myself (plus my hourly rate is dirt cheap! )

How did you come upon these two? It's like the two opposite ends of the spectrum. REA is a great AH that has a long history of putting together amazing auctions and dealing on the up and up, and ST deals mostly in modern and the guy that runs it is pretty shady.

@ReggieCleveland
I have dealt with both and had good experiences with each. Again, just my opinion. Agree that REA is top of the line for vintage - no question. I'd have said that would be my first choice but I don't want to impugn anybody else or their opinion.
ST is good for modern and charges no consignment fees just a buyers premium only (which as we all know just changes/lowers the bidders topside in most cases); shadiness would be news to me though I'll concede that communication could use some improvement. I'd appreciate a PM on anything I should know...
I play in the shallower end of the pool money wise but I've never had any issues. It seems anyone who sets record prices is accused of some shadiness; I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt but I'm not easily fooled, either. It's a hobby for me, not a job or business. I buy what I like at prices I can afford on many different sites.
And since there were other places recommended, I just thought I'd add two alternatives - one vintage and one modern - that seem to draw high prices. There are obviously other good ones, too...

OP asked about a 10-20k card so there is a point where Ebay is cheaper if you want to do the work. Ebay fees are capped at $750 for non-store(10% FVF) sellers and $250 for store(9.15%) sellers. A non-store seller selling a big card could open a store for 24.95 and pay a maximum of $250 in ebay fees to sell a card of 10-20k or even 100k. While I'm sure there can be some negotiation, the PWCC listed 8% at that level continues with no maximum cap. So on a 20k card, the Ebay fees would run either $750, $250, $1600. You would also have to figure about $600 in PayPal fees which never cap out on top of the $750 or $250, but are included in the $1600 PWCC 8% figure. Compared to giving it to a traditional catalog auction house, even paying the $1600 is a bargain. A card somebody writes a check for at 20k, hammers for about $16,750 with a 20% buyers premium. One would have to negotiate receiving 10% of the buyers premium in order to net about the same as paying $1600 to PWCC. Some places will give it to you and some won't even budge on the seller's premium side.
One thing these upper echelon guys seem to have is the market. You can't underestimate that. There's a reach factor where between mailed catalogs, Internet ads and a well heeled customer base, the eyes matter.

An item of that value would be under my control at all times & never leave my hands to an auction house or otherwise, you gotta be crazy to even consider this.
