Englehard Poured Silver Bar Question

I have this poured bar and I think it weighs 10 oz, but I have no functional scale currently to be sure and it isn't stamped for weight for me to be certain. I know that there are collectors out there for them, but is this bar worth more than its bullion weight? I have an ASE for perspective.

    Most older Engelhard bars are worth more than spot. Some much more.
    The trick is figuring out which variety you have.

    The 10.000 in the upper right center is the weight. Yes, it is worth more than melt. Looks nice and original - don't clean it.

    Edit to add: It's a Canadian bar. The bull logo to the left of the "E" is the indicator

    That's a nice Engelhard bar and quite collectible. Locally, the common poured bars sell for a "premium" price, usually $3-5 per oz over spot (and they don't last long). The allengelhard.com site is a great reference and will give you a good qualitative view of your bar's rarity and some insight into value.

    And yeah ... it's 10 oz. The bars were made when silver bullion was silver bullion without much thought about collectability.

    If you are concerned about weight and/or purity. There are a few members here who I am sure would be happy to weigh and test on their precious metal verifier (PMV) for you ... me included. Enjoy!

    Definitely a ten ounce bar.... and a nice one...... I am not a bar collector, but have had a growing interest over the last two years....Cheers, RickO
