Never seen a lot of PCI graded early copper... Maybe this explains why?

I would expect a lot more to have been sent in for grading with that kind of potential :D

PCI gold labels are useless, the coin might as well be raw. The only PCI grades I would even begin to trust are the old 10-digit green labels.

I have owned some PCI pieces in the past, and overgrading seems to be the trend.

I don’t quite get it. Wouldn’t this coin be at least XF?
Within the margin of subjective error?
    I see luster.
    No damage.

It does appear to be a very weak strike

I agree but I've also had a PCI AU58 later grade PCGS MS66.

First: IMO PCI Gold Label coins USUALLY SUCK. I don't think they were ever considered to be a "real" TPGS even when they did good work!
    Second: I agree with @dogwood

    AMEN!

    Mr. @Broadstruck

Please educate us as to these points a professional grader would need to consider and please pretend you are an ADVANCED GRADING SEMINAR Instructor and the two of use are your students. Thanks in advance! <3
