Houston Money Show - buy the book and the coin

We all know the saying "Buy the book before you buy the coin." At the Houston Money show, the rule was modified to buy the book and coin at the same time. A new book on Liberty Seated Dollars was published this month by Dick Osburn and Brian Cushing. The book is massive, 480 pages, with great information on everything Seated Dollars especially die varieties. One of the cool features is in the photo credits they include the serial numbers of the coins used along with the purchasing details of where and when. Took advantage of the opportunity to buy the book and the coin at the same time from Dick Osburn at the Houston Money Show. Picked up an 1862 in PR61 that was one of the plate coins used for the book. Dick was great to work with and it was a pleasure to talk with him at the show and get an education on the series.

That is great... I hope it was duly autographed. I would have had him sign a sticker for the coin as well... ;) and paste it in the book with the slab number..... Nice history for your collection. Cheers, RickO

Yes, the book was autographed by both authors. The coin serial number is listed in the book, so we are good with the history. I did with I had Dick's wife sign it as well. She was telling stories of the fun editing process.
