    Ridiculously small by US standards.

I just did a quick cut and paste, so correct me if I 'm wrong here. But by my calculations, the entire run of 1 oz silver Libertads from 1982 through 2017 is just 32,043,625 pieces.

By comparison, the US minted 47,000,000 1 oz silver eagles in 2015 alone--not including burnished and proof pieces! :o

I've always liked the gold Libertads... but have not been able to find reliable mintage numbers for them, either proof or BU.

Love me some Libertads! Gave out 1/2ozers for Xmas and the 'booby' prize for the stock pickem thing.

I see some 1998 Libertads on ebay.... priced high.... one looks like it is in AU50 or maybe XF.... hard to tell... To me, the premiums are inflated due to the low mintage.... Not sure how large the collector base is.... Cheers, RickO

I’ve always loved the libertads. I even made a dansco album of them. However, the high premium of the 1997-1999 puts me off on acquiring those for the time being.

what determines whether its a libertad or an onza? I've heard some people use either word to describe the same coin.

Myself I refer to them all as onzas but I don't call the balance scale kind as libertads

Thanks for posting. I used to travel in Mexico and enjoy their early silver coinage.
