I have found a 1992 Washington Quarter with what appears to be a double chin, possible a doubled die. can anyone comment on its rarity and or value?

Looks like a better than average
example of ejection/mechanical doubling.
It is not double struck, imo , and it is not a doubled die.
Are we aloud to ask potential value of an example like this? I've considered ebay but without knowledge I'm afraid I wont accomplish its full potential and/or may keep it for my personal collection if that valuable.

Looks cool, but I agree with Mr. Weinberg.

What they are trying to say is, it is worth 25 cents.
It is a great example (extreme example) of mechanical doubling and may have some novelty value int hat regard, but it is not a doubled die.
A very extreme example of Machine Damage Doubling. Even the nose is distorted, along with the TR in TRUST.
You can't sell it as a Doubled Die, but someone might like it on E-Bay anyway.
Just make sure you correctly list it a MDD.

Thank you, that certainly tells me what I need to know. Thanks to all!
Ebay is the ONLY venue for this type of
anomaly.
Imo, you should start it at .99 cents - it will bring
what the market bears.
Most coins with this type of doubling carry NO premium,
but I could see your coin bringing a few dollars or so.
If you start it out at $9.99, it won't sell, in my view.
It IS worth a premium because it is an extreme example of MD.
How much, probably not much, but still more than 25 cents. eBay is your best bet for selling.
I agree Fred......the extreme nature means it probably has some worth to it........visually more than monetarily.

A nice find. Nothing major as noted, but still collectible. Does not have to be a $100 error to peak someones interest. There is a bit of an issue with the obverse rim at 12:00 as well.
I noticed that as well but was unaware of the reason. Thanks for the info!
Interesting... no premium, however, if I found it in change, I would definitely keep it in my 'education' box.... Cheers, RickO
