Different Club Renewal Times

I am a part of several numismatic organizations:
-American Numismatic Association
-American Numismatic Society
-Numismatic Bibliomania Society
-Early American Copper Society
-Colonial Coin Collectors Club
-Medal Collectors of America
-The Elongated Collectors
-Pacific Northwest Numismatic Association
-Central States Numismatic Society
-Illinois Numismatic Association (I'm not quite sure why, as I do not live in Illinois )
-My local coin club

As I go through the year and renew my annual memberships, I have been slightly annoyed by the inconsistency of organizations.
Some of them require you to renew at the end of the calendar year, while some are one year from when you join. Others, if you join close enough to the end of the year will tell you to pay your membership at the end of the subsequent year, while some do not.

Have any other forum members experienced this inconsistency also, and what is your solution?

I have noticed that too. Most of the organizations that I belong to have their renewal at the end of the calendar year. However, a few organization's renewal is one year from when you join. One solution is to become a life member of an organization. It can be expensive depending on the organization but is definitely worth it long term. I recently became a life member of the Civil War Token Society and am really happy that I did. It shows that you are committed to the organization and you do not need to renew every year.

I belong to one club (not a coin club)... renewal at calendar year end.... I do not like clubs... few people do all the heavy lifting, the rest are like remora's on a shark's belly.... I tend to comment on such things and it is not endearing... Cheers, RickO
