I am curious to know whether or not people who received their GSA CC Dollars knew what year they were to receive? Did they order specific years or was it simply luck of the draw?

both. Depends on which sale you're thinking of. There were three sales. You could request a certain date in the last sale for sure as they dropped the household limit.

Thanks. I have no idea which sale they came from. They are unopened boxes so I guess they could contain any date I'm guessing.
Post a picture of the boxes and they can tell you what dates are inside.
Unmarked boxes have a 99% chance of containing either an 1882,3 or 4 dollar. All key dates, 78,9,80,81,85,90 and 91 were marked on the box with the date. There may be a rare exception but the chances of anything other are very slim. Boxes can be white, beige or light blue, doesn't matter.

You're correct. All boxes were blank. I found out before they went off in auction. It was a lot of 10 boxes. One was opened and of course it was an 83. The lot was bid up where the winner paid $223 per coin.
Wow... that is a high price to pay..... I purchased several unopened GSA boxes - back in the late '90's... no where near that price. And likely all 82, 83, 84 coins... Cheers, RickO
