Intentional and unintentional are impossible to prove and pointless to speculate about.

Toners (as in the people who collect them) always feel the need to make up a story about how the tone came about. I guess it is the need to slot it into the one category that really matters being acceptable or unacceptable.

Even those two are fairly fluid but the parts that matter are if it is acceptable to the TPGs which is the biggest trigger for greater prices. I do not think that would be considered acceptable 99% of the time by today’s standards if submitted. This is due to the painted on look of the obv. One layer deep effect.

15 years ago if submitted in bulk, maybe.

My opinion is interesting coin silver, nothing more and worth nothing more. Although there are a few people out there desperate for peace color so I would guess there are a few suckers willing to pay more.

It looks AU so I'd imagine even if it got into an NT holder the price would be almost not warrant the attempt.

Even if it was NT, my opinion is negative eye appeal.

    Artificial, but Market Acceptable

I've seen that kind of blue on coins that have re-toned after a dip.

I’ve seen way worse than that in holders already.

    Natural

Id like to see it in hand. I just dont trust photos anymore.

What I can say is that after 20 yrs of specializing in toned Peace $ - when it comes to circulated coins and especially dipped coins - the colors become much more vivid and colorful than what you find on MS Peace $.

Ive often thought of putting together an AU toned album set because the colors are so much nicer than on the MS coins.

The colors are more rich and deep on AU Peace $ than on MS coins. I would say its NT.

Most people will have a knee jerk reaction to it without thinking it through through though.

There really is no reason to AT circulated Peace $ on purpose. 1922, 1923, 1924 and 1925 issues are cheap enough raw that a doctor might as well try on an MS coin because if they are successful they can see a profit. No one that I know is paying $500 for an AU toned Peace $... the profit margins arent there to make AU coins suspicious.
