Depends on the series. I do think collecting has changed and while a pedigree is special, I am not convinced that the same weight given to pedigrees associated with collectors of today will match those of earlier times. Partial reasons for this include TPG with greater emphasis on CAC.

Gene Gardner was a tremendous market force as well as an avid contributor to and sponsor of spreading numismatic knowledge.
