I even wear Teddy reading glasses. Watch the Roosevelts done by Ken Burns. It is awesome!! It's mind boggling the things he accomplished.

The lowest mintage (from the US Mint) is probably his silver presidential medal issued with the TR C&C set at just over 15K.

There were two inaugural medals that were made for his 1905 Oath of Office. The first one was the Davison piece, which was designed by Charles Barber. The mintage was 3,000 pieces.

The second piece was designed by Augustus St. Gaudens, executed by Adolph Weinman and cast, not struck, by Tiffany’s. The Bronze mintage was 125 pieces plus three gold pieces that were given to TR, vice president Fairbanks and the head of the inaugural committee. As you might guess, this piece is expensive.

This last piece is rare and unusual. Back in the 1950s and probably before the Philadelphia Mint would strike medals in silver if you supplied the medal. A gentleman named Rice had this piece during that period. The piece has the matte finish that the mint placed on its medals at that time.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

We need a TR $2.50 coin that's real currency. That's my idea and I like it!

Nope, the 2016 unc. $5 gold NPS commem has it beat with a mintage of 5150.

My Adolph A. Weinman signature :)

For completeness, there are also the 2003 National Wildlife Refuge System Centennial Medals.

Much more tenuous - the Teddy Bear coins issued by Canada, British Virgin Islands, Liberia, Palau...

The lanyard for his glasses looks like a long snot string hanging from his nose. Did anyone in charge actually think about this before it was minted?

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
