CW, the centering on both the Clemente and Mays is simply magnificent. Those will fit right in with your collection!

Good God, that Goudey Ruth, JB. I mean, they're all sick cards with RARE centering/focus combos. That Ruth just needs its own shout out.

I appreciate the kind words Matt. The Ruth is one of my favorites. I don't remember ever hitting the BIN faster when I first saw it on eBay.

I've picked up a ton of great wacky packs and sports cards this year, but my two favorite purchases are comics also, mostly because I've been looking for high grade copies of these two books for over a decade. And they both pretty much fell into my lap in 2017!

    Terra Man! Awesome.

I loved the Bronze Age Superman books as a kid. The whole WGBS TV/Steve Lombard/Morgan Edge backdrop, which lasted throughout the 1970s and early '80s, started in 1971 in Superman #233, which (in addition to the incredible Neal Adams cover) is why it's something of a key issue. And Terra Man was one of the best villains created during that period.

Had a great year. Here are two of my favorites.

Both are wonderful-looking cards. Would love to get a Seaver rookie akin to that one sometime. Congrats!

Love the iconic Adams Supes cover -- really nice-appearing copy.

Thanks, it was a CGC 9.4 White Pages that I thought presented like a 9.6 so I jumped on it. I cracked it out because there was a big sliver of plastic between the inner well and outer casing that killed the eye appeal.

Had a big start to the year, slowed down a bunch in the middle, and then picked up at the end.

Picked this one up early in the year followed by the rest of my budget for 2017 shortly after that with number 2 which I crossed over straight to PSA for a 4.

Just picked this one up last week and opened it in person on Christmas. Was very surprised that in hand it looks like an 8 all day/every day. Checked it over and it might have a slight stain on the back, but for a savings of about $8-10k I will take it.

    In hand photo.

And from the unopened dept a pickup from my youth.

My type of cards! They all look so much better than the technical grade. Love that CJ Cobb! looks more like a 7-8! Great pickups!

Nothing wrong with cracking it out carefully and may as well keep the label with it. A lot of comic collectors do that anyway, as you know.

This thread is gonna be epic. Great stuff so far all away across the board!
My choices for best pickups in 2017 would be these early year Michael Jordan stickers from Spain

Then a couple hand signed autos of two recent Patriots Super Bowl Heroes. Both are in BSA holders and are my two favorite pickups this year.

Happy wife - happy life. If she is really ticked at you I am sure several board members will make her happy and buy stuff from you! My wife is sitting next to me watching college football at midnight, and just had a bunch of late 80's boxes show up today to rip the next few days. She asked how do you know what unopened is tough to find. I said one of two ways - if it says 1971 rack or wax or if Grote has it :)

Love all of the 8.5's and my favorite grade by far to collect. Perfect mix of high end card but not through the roof psa 9 price.

I will have to sell one or two Mantles...'64 PSA-9 and '63 PSA-8. You can see those on CU focus page...under "Monte's Monets thru the Eyes of Topps".

I made great progress on my 1957 Topps baseball set build and stayed on a budget for a change in 2017. Here are my top 5 favorite '57 pickups. Mantle's 1957 card is my favorite of all of his Topps cards.......after the '52....
