Anyone here collecting Irish Republic coins? There going for good money in recent auctions. For example, 1939 half penny in PCGS 64 red selling for over $800 vs. 150 catalog for a 65. I thought about starting a set but I guess will have to save up for it now. And it appears that the republic coins are going for more than the free state series. Any input is appreciated.

There is no reason for a 1939 1/2p in 64 to sell for $800 unless it was amazing. It’s still a $150 coin in my mind.
