2016 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set

Since this is the most educated forum out there... why is this set selling for the high premiums now. I see offered for $500 and up. What happened while I was napping.

Good question.
Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc
I believe it is likely label mania.
TPG companies will give coins from annual sets a label that specifies coin is from annual set though it is identicle to others offered in different ordering forms from mint.
Like First Strike.....
Like the 2006 W ASE from the Annie Set....
Only around 19k 2016 Dollar sets were minted
These were $160-180 a week or so ago and now they sold for $380-500 over the last four days...Xmas presents?
No label mania here...these are OGP sets. ..and the seller that sold three for $499 each raised the BIN price to $799 which is a reach
Must be for holiday gifts.... I can see no other numismatic justification.... Cheers, RickO
Wow, almost like it has a bitcoin hidden in the set.
I need to check my closet, I may have bought a couple of these last year. I'd be happy to sell mine for $400 each.
I had a sub for 5 and added 10 more

Silver spot/melt price is $16.15 an ounce. If you pay $0.01 one penny more your a fool!
I would give you $16.25 to round it off for that coin! My offer is only good for 1/2 an hour after which you pay me for it after that!
Is it that the grading companies don't grade the accompanying presidential dollars in this set as from this set, or is it that no one is really interested in that pedigree designation for presidential dollars (sacagawea too)?
I guess you could say that about any precious metal product made by the Mint. You could SAY it but would be wrong.
There are quite a few graded bucks out there but 99% are MS67 and sell for under$20 ...but anyone who pays over 5.3 cents for them is a fool
