Dan, you know how I feel about your Mantle. I simply can't fathom why anyone would pay for a PSA 5/6 when your 1.5 looks sooooooooooo much better. I need to stop looking at it now. I'm having bad thoughts.
Arthur
Thanks Arthur. No bad thoughts, only good thoughts. lol
Just a few of many I probably have that could fit in this category, LOL. Bought the Mays back in the 70' for $50, I do remember that. Those are not pin holes BTW, has a few indentations but the centering is my fav about this card. Doug

That '49 Satch up there is outstanding. Congrats to whomever it was that posted that. That's a trophy.
Thank you Arthur. For the life of me, I can't figure why it's a 3. I resubbed it as a 3 and it got a .5 grade bump. Absolutely no creases or wrinkles. The spots on Satch's hat are not paperloss. Still a head scratcher to me.
I would love that Satch in my collection! If you look above both of his shoulders in the green background, I believe you'll see minute wrinkles in the surface, as made most likely. Might have to rotate it in the light, which can be hard to see the surfaces through the holder. That, and the minute ding in the top edge of the card. It's a real beauty that would go perfect in any higher grade set.

I took a really close look using a lighted magnifier at those areas. It appears that there is an extremely light and small surface wrinkle just above his left shoulder. No wrinkles on the other side at all. Man, it is so light that you really have to twist and turn the card. Anyway, good catch on spotting that. Still seems like an overly harsh grade. But like Reggie said, the grade on the label shouldn't matter and I'll just enjoy it.
Thanks for the comments on the Yaz! I've been tempted to send it in for grading, just to have a low grade Yaz RC with incredible eye appeal, but for now it feels at home in my binder.
The other cards posted are fantastic. Keith, that 52 Mantle is incredible. Tim - I love your cards and that Gibson looks fantastic.

It's a stunner of a card and a lot of value packed into that grade holder. It's easy to imagine that there couldn't exist any finer looking card in a holder at that grade level, which is a very good thing to own. Enjoy it for sure!

Uga - thank you re: the 52 Mantle, and like the 51 Mays above it was also courtesy of Jeff at Card Country. My wife said the only cards we better see from Jeff in December are Hallmark cards
They also would fit perfectly into the centered cards thread. That's why I posted my not-quite centered '51s in this one. LOVE that '56 Mantle! Ryan must have paper loss or a pinhole?
This one has some scuffing on back that looks uniform to me, like it might have happened in the manufacturing process. The front looks decent overall - slightly out of register/focus. It's my kind of PSA 2, though.

And I really really really want Largentcollector's '59 Gibson!

This thread makes me want to go on a massive buying spree. Phenomenal cards, guys - thx for sharing.

One of my favorite presentations, and dead centered, Courtesy of Jeff at Card Country...

Well that PSA 7 Mays ain't what I'd call low grade, but I do agree, it's a beauty!

A lot of awesome looking low grade cards all around.
Here is my best looking PSA 1.

Thanks and sorry I missed the low grade part of the topic. My bad. Some great looking cards in this thread
TheClockworkAngelCollection
Wow these are fantastic!! Any for sale? I want them all
No worries, there must be those who consider a PSA 7 low grade, but they collect at a level way beyond me!
Uga - thank you re: the 52 Mantle, and like the 51 Mays above it was also courtesy of Jeff at Card Country. My wife said the only cards we better see from Jeff in December are Hallmark cards
What a beautiful 57 Mantle. Great eye! Is There A pinhole or paper loss on the back? The front presents like a 9
TheClockworkAngelCollection
Thanks. Just a touch of paper loss on the back.
That is a nice looking 57 Mantle, and great centering to boot!
KC
Thought I got a steal on this the other day for the appeal it had for me, and it just arrived!
Nice cards everyone. Here is one I picked up at the National this year.
T206 Set - 300/524
Wow! That T-206 Johnson looks great!! I can't imagine a better looking 2.
Here is another low grade Mick.
Wow, if all 1.5s looked like that!
peacockcoins
Great cards, everyone!
Nice centering on the Bobby Adams.
Keeping the thread going, including a T3 per Arthur's request. The Cap Anson has a few spots of paper loss on the reverse from scrapbook removal.
CW, that Speaker and Anson are incredible for the grade. That Mantle and Cobb are pretty sweet as well.
Picked this up last week.

Great card from the '54 Topps Witness Protection Subset.
aconte
Thanks!
Can't argue. Imagine a matched set of '62 "5s" that looked like, and had centering like that!
Nothing I can say about CW's cards I haven't already said! What an eye for quality!
Wonderful example of a Mick I still need. That's about as nice an appearance as you could want!
New year's bump for this cool thread, and also wanted to share these two I'm proud to have.
Couple of pickups last month that might fit this thread.
KC

Couple other of those same two.
And three other '53s that fit the range of low grade.
Another favorite low grade Mantle of mine.
Wow what a cool thread with some fantastic cards thank you for sharing.
What a beautiful card - that 64 Mantle looks like an 8.
KC
A new one that I just got back from PSA. Just loved the centering and sharpness so much I rushed to put it in a holder even with the crease.
Gibby rookie has great centering and eye appeal - nice pickup!

That Gibby is pretty sweet and that Colavito looks like an 8 on the front. Two great examples.
