Toned 1916 Mercury FSB Newp

I purchased this at a local auction today, and honestly; my photo's don't capture the color/luster in its entirety. The obverse is a aqua/gold, while the reverse has a darker golden hue around the rim while diminishing to a lighter gold/aqua towards the center which has pinkish hues around the fasces, and branches. Luster is strong on both sides.

I suspect it is a high end AU that was dipped some time ago and has since toned. What grade was it being offered as?

Offered as BU full bands. Slight weakness on the hair, and a bit on wing. I'm almost wondering if it's the strike, or, if wear it's almost negligible...not certain on strike quality for the '16's but compared with mid- late '30 - early '40 BU's in my collection appears slightly soft on high points. Any case if AU-62 I'm happy. It's a pretty coin- has BU luster so if dipped not distracting.

Probably a nice Unc.; would probably have to grade gem 65 to be worth submitting.

Still a small chance at a MS coin, but as stated for a 1916 the hair braids are a bit weak.

I kind of like it, but if your pictures of the reverse are accurate, those are colors that don't quite look "right" on an early Merc.
