Is it better to pay more for a sight seen at a B&M shop or
Pay less on line and get what is sent?
some may say return is worth it, but what is your time and state of mind worth?

Sight seen. You get to be the judge.
I always thought the term "sight seen" was a bit redundant.
It is constructed to be the opposite of "sight unseen".
I prefer "in hand" vs. "photo only".
Many online stores have a return privilege so you can get "sight seen" online too.
When you figure in shipping (potentially both ways), I'd definitely prefer in person "sight seen", and will gladly pay out the shipping I didn't incur for a coin I KNOW I will like.....
Though, in reality, I tend to find that coin shows and local shops actually tend to be LOWER priced than online stores, (YMMV), which definitely makes "sight seen" my preferred method!!
For this you invested your time shipping and repackaged fees, YES?

I'll buy what I can see and pay what I think it's worth.

The good thing about inspecting stuff is that you can get another set of eyes or more to review the purchase. I figure anything sold on ebay is going to be shown to others and returned if purchaser gets a critical analysis.
B&M stores are the best! You can hang around, talk coin stuff, and get all the looks you want.

I like both and it depends on what your buying. If your buying a slabbed coin and it’s not scarce. Online for sure. If it’s over 1k or is scarce. I want to have in hand first.

I prefer to view the coin 'in hand'. Now, with the current technology, one can always 'Skype' with a seller and get a good view of the coin - almost 'in hand'...if the seller/buyer has/have the equipment. I do not know why this option is not used more..... There are online chat rooms with video as well.... My Navy buddies and I have one and often show 'things'.... the picture is excellent. I would think that sellers with a website would offer this option....Cheers, RickO
