I think both of them are likely a little underpriced now too. But Verlander has the Houston knock, and Scherzer is well lets just say "unique" in his personality, lol. So, I don't think either of them has quite the same upside as Kershaw since he is a pretty universally liked player.

I think if you bought 1990 Fleer Basketball boxes in 2017 (when this thread was posted), you would still be in the green. I think they were less than $50, maybe even $30 back them. I know packs were $1 each at the Frank & Sons shows.

And thanks— that last sequence was actually conceived with great input of course from Sly and also from a buddy who consulted on it, who was Special Forces for many years. He really helped explain how mercenaries would plan the assault and how one man would defend against it. On WGA strike now yet working on something new for whenever it resolves.
My main focus is on collecting who I like. When prices got insane, I didn't buy much at all.
I am picking up some Kirby Puckett cards now. Some are bargains and some are still crazy expensive, so I am buying 9's if the 10 is too much.
I did find a couple of boxes to rip, had fun but didn't get any mint Griffeys or whoever was the key player.
