Not an expert by any means. But my thoughts:
Not a real fractional gold piece. Likely a jeweler's token made in the 1930s out of low karat gold.

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

Its not a California fractional gold coin that is part of the BG book. It considered a token coin and not made in the 1860s but probably made in the 30s or so.

Token made in the 20th Century, probably before World War Two.

Lots of these have been on the market lately and they are of very recent manufacture. One TPGS describes the "new ones" as tokens, CA Fractional replicas.

Not real California fractional... have you had it tested for gold content? Cheers, RickO

Yes, i did the chemical test, it is less than 10K gold.
I received this item from a person who got it from her fathers estate, he left us 20 years ago.
The piece was in a small envelope and dated Jan 1952. I guess the time he received it.

It certainly is a conversation piece. However, i think I will put it up on Feebay and see where it goes.
