FAKES!!
I was offered these recently and couldn't pass them up as learning tools. They are a 1910 "Caballito" peso and an 1886 8 Reale.
They look weak but not_ too_ far off. Their color is really close. Pretty silvery color with good luster. But they don't heft right (they don't weigh what your mind tells you they should). And they also don't feel right--silver is a great conductor and we're used to how it feels cold to the touch--where these don't. That's a fascinating aspect of silver I hadn't fully considered and worth the price of buying them just so you can feel for yourself.
They are also underweight (at about 19 grams each), and they are attracted to a magnet.
Asking $13 for the pair, shipped.

Agree, I used to add gold plating to the connector pins on reactor control rod drive mechanisms in older reactors as part of a field change update. Talk about added hazard.

@Africangold.... the effort at reclamation of the gold in that piece would be more than the value of gold realized... by far. Reclamation of gold depends on large quantities in order to offset the costs. There is likely not more than a few dollars worth of gold there. Cheers, RickO
In third world countries, they’ll melt/burn a BUNCH of old computer products just to get a couple ounces of gold. It’s not a healthy process for those involved.
Positive dealing with oilstates2003, rkfish, Scrapman1077, Weather11am, Guitarwes, Twosides2acoin, Hendrixkat, Sevensteps, CarlWohlforth, DLBack, zug, wildjag, tetradrachm, tydye, NotSure, AgBlox, Seemyauction, Stopmotion, Zubie, Fivecents, Musky1011, Bstat1020, Gsa1fan several times, and Mkman123 LOTS of times
Definitely an unhealthy process, however, it is done all the time. If you have a high volume of scrap printed circuit boards, connectors and contacts, then you can eventually reclaim enough gold .... but it requires a huge amount of scrap and labor. Cheers, RickO

These are rings that I create out of 1/2 oz gold Eagles. They are made to order, and I'm able to offer most dates from 1986 to present for, $849.95/shipped. I can size the rings from size 5-12, including 1/2 and 1/4 sizes. They are approximately 8mm wide, and have a final weight of at least 14 grams. They can also be made with the date on the inside or outside. You can check out my listings on Ebay (Change2Treasure), or Etsy (ChangeToTreasure), though my prices here would be a little cheaper since I don't have the listing fees. Thank you very much for your consideration!
