Interesting Toning on a Standing Liberty Quarter

Walkerguy21DWalkerguy21D Posts: 11,439 ✭✭✭✭✭

I had forgotten about this coin that came from a set I bought a number of years ago, housed in an old Whitman album. I sold off a few of the better dates and high grade toner coins to recoup my cost, then just put the rest away.
The obverse is nothing special, but I love the reverse. Feel free to give your opinions and share your images of toned SLQs.

The mylar (if that is what it is) in the 2X2 may be refracting the light which could give an illusion of toning...how about a few images of the coin OUT of the 2X2?

    Thanks all.
I may take more images later, but I assure you the toning on the coin is quite nice, and not an illusion induced by the 2x2.

I would have kept that SLQ as well. Awesome reverse. Great little quarter, IMO.

Beauty, Greg. Love that series, just over my head in price(although the prices have really fallen in the last 2 years) at least according to pcgs auction info.
Gotta love that toning, I know I do.

I have a similar toned SLQ but it's on the obverse. I think it may be even the same year as yours too.
I couldn't get the color to come out but it's very similar.

seems nice, but I find that pictures in 2X2's are nearly worthless, since they can hide many 'sins'.

    I tend to agree, Frank.
It was a spur of the moment photo taken for a forum friend, that I decided to share on here - it's not a GTG or on the BST - posted strictly as an interesting raw coin, with no Legend, CAC, or eBay drama.

Mark Feld had these years ago. I should have bought them both but went with the non FH. Second image.
