Retired my Seated Dime Variety set and my Complete Dime set is still #1.

After loosing 149 coins from my Complete Dimes Complete Variety set I am still number 1 by 20%.
Hard to believe. But I am still sick about loosing them.
Oh well...on to new and better things.
Happy collecting to everyone!

I want to say that Dimeman and I entered into an agreement based on trust and the knowledge of the rarity of many of the coins.
Although I deal primarily with Indian cents, I think Seated Dimes are not as effected by overgrading as much as other series. Early type has been brought down by anything that is really AU55 to AU58 being graded MS60 to MS63. Not all, mind you, but enough to make the market look weak to JF at the grey sheet. I see vast overgrading in 1937-D 3-leg bullafos, 1877 Indians, and many other coins, which leads to softer prices in auction and then perceived weakness by JF at greysheet. There is no weakness in Seated material, that I can see. The rare dates bring strong money.
I think that is the perfect series that counteracts the greysheet’s program of using overgraded coins selling at auction to make their market pricing. MS, not Proofs, as overgrading of Proofs has driven prices down to 1980 levels.
Lose vs loose. One of my big pet peeves, lol
Sorry....I always stop and try to get it right, but sometimes I still get it wrong.
