Contest 1 winner = @asheland
Contest 2 winner = @divecchia

PM me mailing address

I've been active here for 365 days

First of all, as with my other give a ways, if you do not like the contest or you do not like the 'value' of the prize...please do not enter or comment.

This is actually two contests..........you may enter **each **contest here, one time per person. Use one separate**** comment for each of the two contests please.

First contest.................Give me your opinion, based on experience, [could be serious of humorous] why I should stay here for another year. [I plan to]

Second contest.................

I have 5 US coins
The earliest date is 1911 and the newest date is 2008.

Concerning the 5 dates: the average of the dates is 1972, the sum of the 5 dates is 9860, the sample standard deviation of the 5 dates is 36.44859, the sample variance is 1328.5.

Concerning the middle three dates: the range of the 3 dates is 12 years, the average of the 3 is 1980.333333333.

Question, what are the 5 dates of the 5 coins ?

There should be enough info here and a spread sheet may speed up the process.

I love math, finite elements and 3-dimensional force vectors more than statistics, but this is what I came up with.

Good luck, remember enter each of the 2 contests once using one separate comment for each.
A random winner will be chosen for each.

The contests entry ends Sunday 10/15/17 at 13:00 hours EST and winners will be posted sometime on the following Monday, thanks for entering.

The 2 prizes, one for each contest will be...................................

Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb, Ricko

Bad transactions with : nobody to date

It's been almost 50 years since I screwed up math like this. So forgive a dumb question.

You said "sample standard deviation" and "sample variance", not "standard deviation" and "variance". So this is a subset of your 5 coins. Don't we need to know the sample size?

Fun contest. Next contest you should make people do common core math...no one would be able to win a prize, haha.

You should stay for several reasons. 1) These forums allow social interactions that are difficult to duplicate elsewhere. The internet allows communication between brilliant minds. 2) These forums allow people to learn a lot, and also for you to teach others.

    The dates:

    -1911
    -1976
    -1977
    -1988
    -2008

I don't normally enjoy math, but this was fun!
