I've finally come to the conclusion...

That I grade like 1988.

Since everything I've sold raw seems to end up in plastic 2 points higher.

I tend to grade by the old standards, too. Just can't help it

Yeah I think at some point once your sufficient with grading you just proceed to learning more about surface alterations, etc.

Just add 2 after you're finished grading and everything should be ok going forward. :D

Either not charging enough or leaving money on the table. I do it more often than not. It's the world of raw and making a deal so somebody can make a coin.

I'm fine with being conservative as just because something ends up grading higher based on by someone elses opinion means I didn't see it as such.

As long as you're not selling at 1988 prices, it's all good.

For some series 1988 prices are actually better! ;)

That tends to happen....learning a nebulous process such as grading - with no standards - is difficult enough... but when involved over a period of decades, the sliding scale changes and one tends to operate within the learned parameters. I will be so happy when computer grading becomes a reality.... however, I am afraid we will endure many 'nuances' added to the process before that happens. Cheers, RickO

I do the same thing @Broadstruck and as a female I am told that I tend to see more then most do. I guess that is good for when you are buying items, but when you go to sell and you state something to be VG08 or whatever and then you see it being sold later as much higher. I think the concept of Market Grading is the issue for me. BTW what is your ebay or web selling name. for future reference

These are "normal" coins or tokens as opposed to error coins where the grade is way less important, correct?
