New Heritage rollover images on search pages -- feedback requested

We would like your feedback!

We have recently changed our search results so that when you roll over the image of the coin, you see closeups of both sides of the coin. Presviously, we showed only the obverse image.

What do you think of this change?

Sincerely,

Stewart Huckaby

    absolutely an improvement!

I noticed this when looking at lots last night.

I'm not sure though... didn't the image appear larger when it was just the obverse image? I like the image of both the obverse and reverse showing, but it would be nice if they were a little larger.

I was fine with the way it was though. I'd know from the obverse hover/roll over image if I wanted to click on the lot to look further.

To show the obverse and the slab shot on the rollover would be great. The reverse is the last thing I look at. Seeing what slab it is in, CAC sticker, is it an old slab, etc., would be more valuable, to me anyway.

The pictures are, at best, just OK. I think they need to be larger. On my computer the pictures appear in a column, with the obverse above the reverse. If they appeared side-by-side, then could the pictures be larger? If so, that would make the pictures a lot better, a lot more valuable.

Agree. The vertical orientation makes sense on a phone, not so good on a laptop or a desktop. The page designers should be able to set it up fairly easily so that it detects the screen orientation and positions the images appropriately.

I noticed last night.....and immediately hated it. Sorry.

I used the "popup" image to show the coin, and make a quick decision on whether I want to go further. Well, the images are too small to decide anything. They may as well not exist at all at this new size.

Very nice for the coins with close ups. The full slab photos are not helpful for what I collect

    I like it!

To be honest, I would be even happier with a larger obverse and no reverse. If the obverse draws me in I will surely examine both sides.

    Instead of this:

    Maybe this:

    @swhuck:
    I agree with the above:
1 - photos should be oriented horizontally, not vertically. I do way more on my pc when buying than on my phone.
2 - photos need to be larger ... i would even say twice as large as they are now.
3 - I like seeing the reverse, but not everyone does. No biggie either way for me really.
4 - it's nice the photos load relatively quickly. Are you preloading them?

Insert witicism here. [ xxx ]

Posted here earlier today, but it seems to have disappeared. :-(

Most of the time I need to see enlarged obverse and reverse. If my choice is between an enlarged obverse and smaller obverse/reverse, I'd pick the former.

I have always liked the original format. I understand the change will stay, but maybe there is a way to allow the viewer to choose between the two formats.

Instead of worrying about rollover image formatting, how about fixing the My Wantlist glitch that some people (like myself) are getting where your database won't return any matches against your saved want list even if there are in fact matches available? Your IT department has been aware of this problem for months now.

My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.

I have mixed feelings. As another one of the respondees mentioned, when the picture is the full slab, I find the dual pictures too small to see the coins. When it is just the coin pictured, it is superb. Many (most? all?) of the coins with slabs pictured have close ups of the coins themselves. If you could show those in the roll-over, then I would give it two thumbs up instead of just one.

Frankly I would prefer to not have the rollover function at all. On a desktop the main thing it does is interferes with browsing items as I wait or try to figure out how to get rid of the image blocking the other listings, just by moving the mouse around. It's easy enough to just open up the listings in a new tab and look at even bigger images.

I like it, and think that it is a huge improvement. It is a great way to weed out coins more quickly and to focus on items of interest.

    It's 20% better.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
