Sticking them down with glue will make for a very messy and hard to clean floor. I've seen people pour some sort of epoxy over them, which gives it a smooth surface,

Neat project...there have been a couple of those type projects shown here... One of a bathroom done with cents... of course a bar or two with silver dollars...I could not spend that much time bending over, on my knees....too painful and I have too many other activities I really enjoy...
