I was fortunate enough to acquire this for my Capped Bust Half Dollar Redbook Variety Set. The set is growing, and I love the hunt!
It resides in a details holder, but I'm thinking a few years in the sunshine will give it a nice patina. Thanks Brian.

Good one. Looks like it has VF30 details.
Wundervoll!
What a great variety too. Very elusive.

Congrats! This is the last major variety I need before I get to "the impossible 10" to finish out the 450 die marriage set.
I am green (non-PVC green, that is) with envy.

Very nice....there is just something about this series that I kike so very much.
I thought this might be an 1812/1 Large 8 before I opened the thread.
A very nice coin, and very difficult to find. Congratulations on acquiring it!
An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
Congratulations on your recent acquisition.
I found mine at a regional show for under $50.
The only problem is that the coin was at ground zero when Mrs O'Learys cow started the Great Chicago fire.
A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.
A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
I like it. I very seldom buy them at that grade anymore. My loss. Something about a "quality" Capped Bust Half in v.f.35-e.f.40 I personally find very, very, appealing. Better than in higher grades with no "personality." I like it.
Great find!
Congrats on a very nice addition!
Dave
Thank you to all for the kind words. Post your 1812, or a favorite new acquisition. Always love to see the "busties", right Hydrant!
110% agreement on this statement. Most of mine are in the VF-XF range.
Here's mine, cherried by our own coin22lover. I wish I'd gotten to it before the middleman.
Lance.
Here's a favorite 1812...not the 12/1 large 8, but a nice high AU that earned the elusive 58+.
Lance.
Very cool variety! Congrats!!!!
Here's a favorite 1812 bust half of mine in a PCGS 63 holder with a gold CAC sticker...
And another neat 1812 bust half die marriage O.106 with cool obverse and reverse die cracks...
Very nice coin...congratulations... Cheers, RickO
If I had it to do all over again, I'd collect CBH.
Great looking coins! 1812 was a pivotal year for the US, and these works of art have that cool connection to that history. Those are some REAL beauties! Great photography, too!
Time to shift gears a bit:
Oh the humanity!
Lance.
nice addition to your set.
What a great coin to add to your collection 23Pairer.
Make sure to free her from the plastic if you want her to age properly.
OUCH ! I'm wiping a tear from my eye as I type.
Got the snippers out, and a old Kraft envelope, courtesy of another generous member, and she's going to sit in the sun on the porch like a retiree from Wisconsin!
