Anyone care on how to maximize your bullion purchase on eBay?

I've seen folks mention eBay bucks/rewards and CC cash back.

What's your strategy?

Generally you can't get eBay bucks unless the seller lists it out of the bullion category. Otherwise wait for a favorable price over spot [say $19.99] and get the 1 or 2% reward points from your CC. Much better when spot is $1225 than when $1325.

I buy most of my bullion at work. That is unless I can get a great deal online, sometimes it happens to be ebay.

I've found the best way to buy bullion, on ebay, for any savings, is to buy other items to get ebay bucks, and then use the ebay bucks to buy from the bullion category (people jack up the prices when not in the bullion category) and use my 2% cash back CC.

The exception to this, that I have seen, is some random 1/2oz gold commems (modern). I was able to get them just over spot, get ebay bucks, AND get my 2% back.

Buy with bonus bucks then spend the bonus bucks on more bullion. It's the only way I buy bullion on ebay and I buy quite regularly.

Follow the: "Post metal deals here"...thread. Lots of great deals discovered by following it.

Ok, to follow up on my earlier post, since there are ebay bucks this weekend, for some....

Current spot price for the weekend: $1319.40
Current ebay price for 1oz modern gold commems (from Apmex) that are NOT in the bullion area and are, therefore, eligible for ebay bucks: $1395.82
At 8% ebucks reward, amount back for this purchase at end of quarter: $100.00 (maxes at $100 per transaction, up to $500/qtr)

Amount that the 1oz gold commem costs you after ebucks IF you can use it for something you would have purchased anyway: 1295.82

    Amount BELOW spot: $23.58

So, that is how you buy gold BELOW spot on ebay (most of the time, if it is possible)

Else, at ~$22 over spot ($1341), but no ebucks, here is a gold 1oz AGE at one of the lowest prices I currently see (for over spot difference) in awhile.

If you want to do 1/2oz at a time, they also have the modern gold commems in a non bullion category here:

Note: You only come in a couple of bucks under spot this way, and you would have to do it 1 order, for 1 unit at 1/2oz, at a time, in order to max out the ebucks and get the savings.

    Oh, final note:

If you have a cash back credit card, like many do, you can use that and get the cash back there as well. I have a card that gives me 2% cash back at the end of every month, based on what I spend, on everything I charge.
I pay it off each month, so it is a good thing for me to use.

I know a guy that bought silver way below melt on ebay.

Stupid sell your item form tripped me up yesterday , I was listing using sell similar and for some reason even though I changed the price to what I wanted it reverted to the original . Then I didn't check the listing after it was live and 3 minutes later poof. :D

Very efficiently he maximized his purchase and I minimized my sale simultaneously . I have been on the other end of that so I guess what went around came around

Prices keep dropping, so wait and be patient.
