I have some 64 coins that seem they could be and I am thirsty for the diagnostics so I can move on to the next thing. I need info on the penny, nickel, dime, and quarter. Specific die markers, pictures would be amazing. Also any Denver mint SMS minted after 64 with the unique strike and surfaces like I've heard reside in the Smithsonian. Please, this honestly means the world to me. You guys are all I've got.

AFAIK, the only place you will get this info is to go to the museum and get it yourself or contact Lange at NGC. I believe NGC slabbed them.
Best thing to check would be Heritage's sold archive listings. You will be able to look at pics that way. Don't get your hopes up though most if not all are accounted for and there were not that many.

There are a good number of 1964 proofs that have a more business strike-type luster than full mirrored surfaces. I've compared these hand-in hand to 1965 SMS coins and they are VERY similar. You're correct in asking for die markers, as going on looks alone won't be enough.
Uh...why not try right here at Coin facts...photos and descriptions at the bottom of true view shots. Just type in SMS in the upper righthand corner on the Coinfacts page and go from there...

Go to the Smithsonian and look at the very early strike coins give to SI by the US Mint. The so-called "1964 SMS" coins look a lot like these -- just early strikes off new dies. Not something specially made.
Further, there is no documentation for any of the "1964 SMS" claims.
Out of thousands of 1964 dies used, there were likely a lot of early strikes off new dies. If you have some, enjoy them for what they are, not for any imaginary special-minty-ness.
There have been many new "special" coins discovered ever since the major TPGS came along. Some of them are "special."
I like the mystery behind the 1964 sms sets, but not too impressed with them in hand. I actually owned the dime once in NGC MS67. It was one of those coins that gave me the feeling that if I cracked it out it would immediately lose 99.9% of its value.

Your chance of actually having such coins is probably in line with the odds of winning the $700,000,000 lottery. Don't waste your time on such things ... and especially, don't waste your money.

You have focused on a very narrow segment of collecting... and one in which you may experience a great deal of frustration. Best of luck...and if you find any, let us know... we would all be interested. Cheers, RickO
That is probably one Roosey Dime that I will never chase.
Simply put, if I don't know what to look for, how can I find it. Thanks Mercurydimeman
