To whomever can answer this question correctly first I will give a PCGS MS65FS 2007-P Jefferson Nickel that I personally had slabbed back in 2007?

Update,,,,,, in checking my records I didn't slab these until March of 2008.

While there may be what some count as many correct answers the only answer that wins is the answer that I deem correct. (My contest,,,,,,, my rules) ;)

2nd giveaway - Who can tell me what my claim to fame is concerning Jefferson Nickels? - The same a PCGS MS65FS 2007-P Jefferson Nickel.

There a few guys on here that should know the correct answer to this question.

When the winners are announced I will explain how I came to this conclusion.

So to summerise I am giving away (2) PCGS MS65FS 2007-P Jefferson Nickels to the winners of my contest.

GrandAm :)

10 years on the forum, I think is the answer to the first question.
    Correction - earning 500 points.....length of time apparently isn't a factor.

There is no official requirement for 'expert collector' so this is an impossible question to provide a precise answer to.

complete a 70/70 Type Set completely raw, by yourself (access to unlimited information but all gathered by YOURSELF), and then submit to PCGS...no bodybags and you can rightfully call yourself an "Expert Collector!" ;)

After collecting for 50 years, I'm an expert at something but I forgot what it was. It's been a lot of fun watching some of the young folks on this site become experts over the years.

Is this a play on old forum software? Was expert collector along the lines of 10000 posts?

An expert collector is specialized in one field /collection while capable to identify the history, variation, errors and problem without a doubt. At first glance of rare, an expert can say it's 100 % fake but never 100% real as new discovery being found all the time.

Not me but I wish it was :/

    Was that Clackamas?
I recall him telling me he had purchased ~1000+ sets and went through them and submitted many. He was the source of many of the 1968 mint set top pops

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I got the 2 of them mixed up as I usually do now that I'm fast approaching 50yrs old.
He corrected me and we are now on the same page.

    Did you know @GRANDAM doesn't own a 1968-D Nickel?

    WINNER - WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!!!!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PM me your mailing address to claim your prize.

I received an e-mail earlier tonight from Collectors Universe saying
Congratulations! You've been promoted to Expert Collector."

I wasn't sure what the requirements were to achive such a lofty honor but when I clicked on my ICON it showed I had just hit 500 points so I was sure that was the requirement but how long did it take?

If you look I joined Collectors Universe on April 23, 2002 so in my case it took 15 yrs 3 months and 30 days for ME to achieve Expert Collector Status which was the question.

Now that still leaves another question to be answered and that is what is my claim to fame is concerning Jefferson Nickels?

Since there are very few answers on this here is a hint.

I sold a coin (different pcs but all the same date and grade) to just about all the Top guys for a particular set at one point because I was the only one who had them because I "MADE" all of them. The POP was 24/0 pcs for several years now it is 28 pcs. I made 1 or 2 more pcs of this particular coin over the next couple of years so over the course of MANY years only 2 or 3 pcs of the entire population were "MADE" by someone else.

The question is what is the series, date, mintmark and grade of the coin I am refering to?

In late 2007 I was looking for MS66 FS 2007 coins for my set and could not find any so I ordered a bank box of 2007-P & 2007-D Nickels to sort for grading. I also bought some rolls of 2006 nickels to screen for grading. MS65FS was my minimum grade and I had 200 coins grade out of 220 submitted.

That was fun...I lit a Padron 7000 and smoked the entire stogie looking through your entire "Discussions" history...then...I lit another one and started scouring the pop reports for Jeffs and found 28 in top-pop 68...what a feat for you making that many! Congrats and Thanks for the fun...and coin ;)

Walker guy was "Technically" correct with his 500 point guess so he gets a Nickel too,

I was looking for a length of time but he wins also.

    So as OPRAH would say,,,,,,,,,

    Cameonut2011 - YOU GET A NICKEL
    3keepSECRETif2rDEAD - YOU GET A NICKEL
Walker guy - YOU GET A NICKEL

    PM me your address,
