An interesting place for a Buffalo nickel

I was shopping at my local Theisens (farm and fleet store in Iowa) and was looking at a pair of Ariat jeans and noticed this. Not what I expected to see on my pants! Still bought a pair anyways.

    Probably not real. Ive seen these buttons selling in bags at the store and those were cast. The loop on the reverse was a part of the original casting, IIRC.

    It isn't real, I just thought it was an interesting place to put the reverse of a buffalo nickel.
