1858 Flying Eagle DDO Attribution Help
![DoubleJCoins](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/126/nIG36KX1NE812.jpg)
Hey, I was taking photos of some new purchases and noticed doubling on this flying eagle. I looked up NGC and PCGS varieties on it and didn't find a match. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The 'A' in the photograph provided appears to show mechanical doubling/machine doubling/die bounce....so it's probably not a true DDO, unless I'm missing something else.
I tend to agree with Walkerguy21D.
I'm not near my Snow books or Cherrypickers but check out the eye and the bottom right side of the "A."
I would tend to agree with machine doubling... with the only question being (as Insider2 noted) the bottom, right leg of the A.....it 'appears' to have a split there.... and that could be due to wear as well... Cheers, RickO
Snow-3 1858 Large Letters, doubled die obverse.
That is S17.
S17 and S18 are similar DDOs. The difference is S17 has LOW leaves and S18 has HIGH leaves on the reverse.
Also, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Rick Snow's 2 volume set "The Flying Eagle & Indian Cent Attribution Guide"
It.......has..........everything!

LOL, and I was sitting here so smug at confirming the doubled die. VERY SORRY for the misinformation I posted above!![:( :(](https://forums.collectors.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
I Just looked in the book recommended above on PP#98-99. The new volumes make the older set I first used
virtually OBSOLETE as five more doubled dies are added to the 1858 LL!
Thanks for the help!
