Consignment amateur - Best option to sell?

Hey guys, I'm a fairly small time collector who has gotten back into the hobby over the past 5 years and having a blast. Recently, I was fortunate enough to submit a HOF rookie card that came back Gem Mint 10 and is a pretty rare Pop 1.
I realize it's going to be hard to determine an exact value but I have made the decision to sell the card to raise some money for some other projects. When considering how to maximize my sale, there are a variety of factors I want to consider such as:
- Consignment fee %
- Maximum visibility/exposure for the item
- Overall ease of setting up the consignment (people to walk me thru the process, paperwork, etc.
Who would guys recommend and why?
-Collecting anything vintage

Is it a baseball rookie or other sport? Please share what you have! I definitely say a pop 1 PSA 10 HOF rookie needs to be sold auction style. Like you said, value is hard to estimate on a pop 1 PSA 10. All it takes is two bidders to get it going. Go with a major house for sure. I think a card like this deserves one of the houses that spend a lot on advertising to make sure it gets the exposure it deserves. Golden, Mile High, Heritage are a few that come to mind. There are many others people will mention. For a very rare high grade, you should get a cherry consignment deal.
depending on who it is and price realized make sure you negotiate part of the buyers commish...5-9% is usually the norm, unless you go w pwcc in which you will pay a sellers commish of around 8%
very, very important: whatever you do, make sure you actually notate the auction closing date and check for any possible disruptions, ie superbowl sunday, thanksgiving weekend, new years, world series, christmas, etc!
i love participating in auctions that end on these type days though!
lew alcindor? gretzky became 2, so thats out...
nope, you got the damn erving!
i have 4 sitting there right now, damb it!!!
congrats!!

Nice hit, congrats. For that I'd just go pwcc.
Yes, very cool rare back hit! Post a scan when you get it in hand.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.
Ok. Now that I know what card, I agree with the PWCC sentiment. PWCC does a fantastic job with more modern cards such as this and frankly EBay opens the door for many buyers who don't bother with auction houses. You will get a lot of interest and eyeballs.
Here she is
Hiya Jim
I don't sell and I'm sure some of the sellers will come by and give their best.
I'm wondering how many now prefer PWCC?
Wow...that is a wonderful card. Congrats. You can't go wrong with pwcc if you can't hold onto it for awhile and enjoy it.
Jim Meant - Awesome Card, congrats.
Whoever popped the PSA 10 DR J Rookie must be ordering new underwear!! Holy Crap!!!
Incredible! Wonder if it was a review? I would die if I sold that '9' only to find out that news!!
OP - Great card!!
It started out as a joke in the beginning, but I just checked and there really is a Dr. J RC PSA 10 on the pop report. Wowsers.

Hope you got it!!
This afternoon I sent Joe O. an email asking when the DR. J popped and he said a few months ago. I would love to see a pic. Big Card for sure.
