Heritage / HA Question: Winning with a Lower Bid?

I put in a bid for a lot on HA and wasn't around to watch it live.
Afterwards, I see the following:
- Message saying "You won this lot with a secret maximum bid of $x ($y w/Buyer's Premium (BP) )."
- Sold for message saying "Sold for:$z includes Buyer's Premium (BP)
Here the Sold for value is more than my secret max bid with BP.
So my question is did I win or lose this lot? It says I won but the Sold for value is more than my max bid.

Heritage rounds up if your bid is between bidding increments. Could this be what happened?
The Heritage site just updated and bumped up my won price (over 12 hours later on the website) so that $y now matches $z above. Seems like it was executing against my Bid Protection increments.
I would give them a call if there could be an error to see if customer service could make adjustments if appropriate.
I am not aware that Heritage was doing that. If you bid an odd ball number, like $402, and someone bid $400 but no one else bid any more, you get the lot for $402 plus the buyers fee. You can only make an odd bid like that on the Internet before that bids have reached that level. Once the bids reached $400, for example, the normal bidding increments are applied. You can't raise the bid $404 or some other odd number.
They do that on proxy bids after pre-internet bidding has ended.
