Palladium Coin Coming Next Month?

I have seen no mention of this on the Board, but I recall reading today in Coin World OnLine that the long-awaited palladium bullion piece is to be released NEXT month. Whatcha y'all think?

It should have PT Barnum on the obverse
Has the Mint released any images?

I read on Sharps Pixley they are going to be like all the other American Eagles and will be minted at Philadelphia. A proof version in 2018 minted at west Point.

The eagle is missing the arrows.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I'd like to see some fractionals.

We're too nice for arrows these days. Similar to how China uses the panda instead of the dragon these days. Everyone wants to be nice on their coins.
The design looks nice, however, it will not be on my list to acquire...The liquidity of gold and silver will remain the best investment as far as PM's go.... Cheers, RickO
The Mint confirms that the coins go on sale to authorized purchasers in September. See our coverage: coinworld.com/news/precious-metals/2017/08/u-s-mint-to-start-selling-palladium-bullion-coins-in-september.html
I wonder what it would look like if the eagle had a 50 cal dangling from it's talons....
The bullion coin will be issued in September, a proof next year:
coinworld: U.S. Mint will start selling palladium American Eagle bullion coins in September
So the bullion version will go to the authorized bullion purchasers, like APMEX and the other big boys.
Remember what happened with the first 5oz ATB pucks....
Might as well throw palladium into the mix along with platinum.
Last I looked, gold silver, copper were the ore of choice.
MHO
This is a foolish sop by Congress to the sole commercial venture in the US that mines the stuff. Absolute waste of money and resources -- and this stuff was never used for coinage.
Yes, but that's how coins have been authorized, going back over 100 years.
Personally, I love the idea and the coin design looks fantastic. When I was hoarding bullion back in the mid aughts and watching prices daily, I was always on the look out for Palladium bullion coins. They quote the Palladium price on Kitco, and the same folks who buy your gold and silver, will buy your palladium bullion too.
I don't know how a person can say they buy bullion, love bullion, but do not like the palladium coins. I say, go back to fiat you traitors!
I will buy palladium bullion coins.
Me too
Mi tres. I dig em and am excited to have a option other than maples and chicks on their toes.
@BackroadJunkie... Great idea .... and M1 would look so much better than arrows.... Cheers, RickO
Way back when this coin was first being discussed you had palladium down to under 50% of the platinum price. Too bad it has gone up so much.
I'll take one in High Relief antiqued matte please! Skip the obverse, just make a medallic reverse in triple size.
Well, just Love coins, period.
I will be buying as I've been waiting for a US Pd bullion coin.

I'll buy at least one. Kind of cool to have.
I've heard rumors of platinum fractionals, keeping fingers crossed for 2018.
