Is it still a 2 player keeper league like last year stated?

  • ugaskidawgugaskidawg Posts: 882 ✭✭✭

    I'm in!

  • I am in & I would like to request that we go to 1 point per reception.

  • I'll take one of the open spots.

I'll potentially take one of the open spots if available.

My only question is, I know it's early, but do you have a draft date/time in mind yet?

1 point per reception I am fine with this if no one is against bumping from .5 to 1. In regards to keepers I have had a couple people PM me that since we kind of mentioned trying to do it but then never brought it up again some folks dropped players that they wouldn't have and we never worked out the details on keeper values before the end of the year.

In all fairness doing this as a redraft probably makes the most sense and we need to hammer out all the details of the keepers going forward before we draft.

I am open to any Saturday evening to do the draft, the 2 Sundays before the season starts I have already booked for 2 leagues I run for the CGC comic forums but 3 Sundays before would also work for me. I like to draft as close to the start of the season as possible and best case would be if we can all do it Saturday Sept 2nd around 9 to 10ish PM EST so we can get the west coast folks in at not too early a time for them.

I have Railside Cards and Porkins down as alternates 1 & 2 and teams 11 & 12 and unclebob you are right now the 3rd alternate.

I think we will be able to do 12 for sure this year, just need to hear back from folks if they are in again this season.

Was looking forward to playing the keeper league. I will bow out for an alt to play

With InitialD out then unclebob you are in and we should be at 12. I have a couple other board members also interested so if we lose anyone else we should have no problem getting to 12 this season.

Please confirm you are in and once everyone has sent over their buy ins via PP I will have Yahoo do the random draft order so everyone can plan accordingly for the draft spot you will have.

I think sept 2nd is Labor Day weekend, better make it the weekend before Aug 26th or after sept 9th. 9 or 10 Est works for me.

The season kicks off on Sept 7th so the 9th and 10th wouldn't work too well.

Ha good point, I don't even know when the season kicks off. See it was really a total fluke I won last year. Does the 26th work alright for everyone? I'd assume a lot like me are out on vacay over Labor Day.

I know I'm a newbie but the 26th is no bueno for me with the Floyd Conor fight that night

    27th a better idea?

Certainly is for me, for what it's worth, kind sir.

27th is going to be better than the 26th you are right. I work for a cable company and we are having a get together for that fight which I forgot about. Free fight, free food and beer.

I will have to stagger the 2 drafts I am running that night.

I post backwards between the 2 leagues.

Sunday August 27th at 8PM EST if that works for everyone I am going to be good with that time. My other draft that night will be wrapping up about that time online. Picks will be 45 seconds so that this is done before the 10PM draft time for the main League drafts for League A at 10PM EST.

Brendan, I am good with this. Thanks for looking out for League A! :)

Sunday, August 27 at 5:00 pm pacific
is the same time as the 'playing for peanuts' draft plus another league I'm in.

That's okay, I can do three at once.
It'll give me a good excuse for losing when my teams go into the tank. :)

    Mr. G,

Look at the rules above. The 6 team make the playoffs over 3 weeks is in there, he probably just had inadvertently left the leagues settings for that on default of 2 weeks 4 teams.

  • brendanb438brendanb438 Posts: 1,595 ✭✭✭

We are good to go, Yahoo didn't take the change when I bumped us from 10 teams to 12 teams to correctly reflect the 6 team playoffs vs. the 4 team playoffs of last season.

  • Now that we are into the playoffs, great job by RailsideCards to finish at 12-1, even though wolfbear, Porkins & Jerry's Kids finished with more total points.
I am quite happy to make the playoffs after losing the number 1 overall draftpick in the 1st game of the season (David Johnson). Basically, that means I didn't have a pick until the last pick in the 2nd round! Injuries were certainly brutal this year, I know a couple of you will agree.

  • PorkinsPorkins Posts: 615 ✭✭✭

Yea, good luck Cocoa, and all in the playoffs! Had a really fun season.

Freaking AB’s status being very much up in the air for MNF cost me a win and a first round bye, as I was unwilling to drop anyone to pick up a backup, and started Tate instead.

Oh well, everyone has their own sob story, just happy to make the dance!

  • brendanb438brendanb438 Posts: 1,595 ✭✭✭

Team USSR was heading in the wrong direction for the 2nd half of the season so not surprised I didn't make the playoffs. Made it in though in 5/6 leagues so I can't be too unhappy with this year. I have locked out the teams that didn't make the playoffs so they can not add or drop players. Only the top 6 teams can make pickups going forward this week and I will lock teams out as they are knocked out of a chance at any money.

I think locking teams that are not in the money bracket should be standard protocol in every fantasy league. I know Yahoo has those bogus games in the consolation bracket to help increase link clicking for eliminated teams but I personally think it's poor form to be picking up players for what are essentially meaningless matchups. Thanks for running the league Brendan.
Great group of super competitive managers.

I went from 9th place in 2016 to 1st place this year.

Of course it was almost all Todd Gurley.
With him on my roster, even I couldn't screw things up.

PM sent Brendan. Thanks for running the league again. I am happy with my second place finish. I wish I would have started Goff instead of Keenum in the championship game, but I would have still fell short. Gurley, Kamara and Fitzgerald was a tough combo to beat in the playoffs. I scored 150+ in both playoff games and I wasn't even close in the championship game. Congrats to @wolfbear for his championship run! A deserving champion.

Look forward to it next year.
