Thoughts on these ASE's

These were on display in a curio cabinet for a while, (exposed) , one
standing up in the mint package (blue felt box) and the other laying obverse side up. During a home project they were moved to a closet (top shelf) on an exterior wall which stays pretty warm, or hot if you will, obviously not the preferred storage method (this is how we learn). Would they be considered as natural toned/tarnished or would you consider them to be AT. If deemed NT do you think that they would straight grade or be MA?

Looks like AT to me BUT I am far from an expert on this subject

Successful transactions with : MICHAELDIXON, Manorcourtman, Bochiman, bolivarshagnasty, AUandAG, onlyroosies, chumley, Weiss, jdimmick, BAJJERFAN, gene1978, TJM965, Smittys, GRANDAM, JTHawaii, mainejoe, softparade, derryb, Ricko

Bad transactions with : nobody to date

That is a lot of toning for a "while". Seems like a chemical reaction to me of something volatile in the air around them. I have had a lot of these not slabbed even out in the garage from below zero, to 100 degrees and none have done this in over 12 years. Interesting.

Notice that the "milk spots" didn't tone.

Think you will lose money getting those graded. Dip and sell for bullion.

    4-years would be a good estimate.> @BAJJERFAN said:

Other than the one giant one I think most are from dust settling.

No grading, was just curious, there just big silver rounds.

My thought process was that the were NT, but due to improper storage they may or may not be market acceptable.

You never know what is going to happen when you submit toned ASE's, but from past experience I think that they will get a numerical grade.

Do you have moth balls in the closet? Bottle of bleach? Laundry detergent? etc. That is a lot of toning for +/- 4 years and something just seems artificial to me.

just a normal closet packed full of crap, nothing sinister.

I have ASE's stored since the beginning of the series....No special protection, some have traveled across the U.S. twice in moving vans, from Florida to Seattle, from Seattle to NYS... NONE have tarnished, NONE have milk spots... Very few are slabbed - like four or five... includes a complete set of Proofs... So, whatever caused that tarnish is unique to the environment you have had them in....and no, I would not buy them. Likely they would slab though. Most any ASE does now... Cheers, RickO

@morgandollar1878 - your images from PhotoSuckIt (PhotoBucket) are not coming through. Search for the ransomware thread for the explanation.

There are a number of straight slabbed ASEs with a similar look so yours could have shot at being MA.

    PCGS Secure MS67

    PCGS Secure MS66

The op coins are both NT and market acceptable. They will grade. Just be sure to send them PCGS though as ATS won't slab 99% of anything with color.

    The more you VAM..

Ugly. Most toned ASEs are ugly, they all have that ugly blue-purple-gold coloring that AT coins have.
