A study on the 1941 Large S Mercury Dime....these are all Large S's. Revisited...

Below is a close-up of all 5 dies that I have identified so far. Die-1 and Die-2 are in the Mercury Dime book by David Lange. All of these are pics of my coin except Die-2 which I do not have and is the pic out of Mr. Lange's book. You will see that 3 & 4 are very close to the same, but have slightly different positions to the leaf. The rest are easy to tell apart. You can click on pic to enlarge. Comments are welcomed and encouraged. Thanks for looking. Added that Die-1 actually overlaps leaf.

Looking for Top Pop Mercury Dime Varieties & High Grade Mercury Dime Toners.
Thanks Greg....glad you looked....haven't seen you around here much.
Nice. Clearly the same punch for all.
Very cool! That's the trumpet-tail style, correct?
Correct - the Large S is the trumpet-tail style.
Jon your information is very cool. Wish my eyes were good enough to see everything you see.

Very nice... might be tough to see the differences without magnification, but they are clearly there. Thanks for the detail pictures Jon.... Cheers, RickO
nice job
BHNC #203
Excellent presentation.
Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to do this, picture comparisons like the one you created are always very useful.
I just realized that the die varieties for the 1941-S Large S is covered on the CONECA site. Their numbers, my numbers and the numbers in the Book on Mercury Dimes by David Lange do not all line up. I just started assigning number after 2, which is all that were mentioned in Lange's book. I need to get with Dr. James Wiles on a question I have on Die 1 and Die 4 so I can get this all straightened out.
