Hi all. Thanks so much for answering all my questions I truly appreciate it. I have a penny a 1995 D that is clearly damaged however I was wondering how Lincolns forehead got like this? There's letters throughout penny . The reversE side has some crazy letters on that side aside from post mint damage as well

. What do y'all think?

    The copper layer was damaged and is allowing the zinc core to react to the atmosphere. The TPG call it environmental damage.

    Yes, PMD.... looks like a 'parking lot' cent....the zincolns damage easily and deteriorate quickly. Cheers, RickO
