I nearly "ripped" off Steve Ivy Rare Coin (SIRC) for $15,000 back in 1974. They got my "circulated Liberty Seated coin" want list and didn't know I didn't have more than $50 to spend on any one coin...and not for gem uncs either. They shipped me an un-requested approval package with several choice mint state seated rarities, one was a MS63/64 1865-s dime. Some of the coins weren't even on my want list. I couldn't afford the "killer" $20 REG mail fee to send them all back....lol. So I held the coins "hostage" until I got a check from them. Then I shipped them back....my parents were fully informed of it.

Oooooooo...... I don't think ANY unrequested approvals can be enforced for payment.
??????????
Maybe not. But I didn't want the full weight of Ivy and the coin industry coming down on me...and being black-balled for years after that. You do the right thing. Return them. But, I wasn't sure I'd get the shipping costs back had I just sent them back w/o informing SIRC. They didn't blow up or threaten me. They were probably happy to get their $15K in coins back.

Blackjack is the better choice...if you can find a single deck game. However, I love poker.....Cheers, RickO
Yep. A long time ago, 18 years of age (Illegal, but nobody cared), went to Tahoe and played single deck. Buddy John got drunk on casino free drinks and lost everything, He thought we'd have to take Greyhound home. Six in the morning, "No, we're going home, I have gas money."
I like win/win deals, not "better luck next time sucker" type raw deals on either side of the buy/sell table. I have usually told the dealer I bought material from how the stuff graded since they weren't willing to send it in unless to do so would upset them inordinately. A late dealer who looked like he would appreciate a nutritional supplement appreciated when I have him one gratis, and I later bought a coin from him that upgraded nicely. Karma. There would definitely be value in offering free services to dealers who may need our friendliness, listening ears, encouragement or recommendations. I have been shocked at how certain dealers don't know how to maximize their businesses, especially if they hate the internet or don't use it for research.
After having a blast in Vegas, we came home with more than half of the money we planned to lose. (I consider this a win.)
Coin-related: My brother who was there with us was approached by a guy who had a Draped Bust half (based on my brother's description) and said he needed money and would sell it to him for $100. He passed. I told him it was most likely a fake and he made the right call. I wish they guy would've approached me- that would've been fun!

Have you
1) Lost your passport
2) Lost your wallet
3) Lost your money
4) Lost your luggage
5) Just been incarcerated at the Manila City Jail?
There was a scam about me claiming the above. My bail-out number was $1800. I hope you have better friends.

Looks to me like you just won a chunk of change on a blackjack. $100 green chips. Are those $500 blacks on the bottom?
Nice going!
Lance.
Try not to play like this!

The dealer told me it was an 11 and his 18 beat it.

In Austin Powers, the dealer is the Soup Nazi!

Thread is still alive....whew!
Hey ......what happened to the $1,400 dealer ripoff thread ?
You're kidding right?
It was moved to a new category called phantom forum.
"A dog breaks your heart only one time and that is when they pass on". Unknown
all the fun, none of the drama.
unless
well, I won't. too cruel.
we can go into detail as to where a cherry pick turns into a rip turns into a rip off. we haven't discussed that yet.
I overpaid for a few coins. I now hate myself.
Was it moved to the new Instagram Coin Forum?
I think it was purchased for a mini-series on Netflix.
Don't play in any blackjack games where blackjack pays 6:5. That's costing you around 3% and the game is mathematically impossible to beat.
Poker action should be good at the Bellagio and Rio with the WSOP going on.

Those were the days.
cached on google, like all removed threads.
I keep coming back to the title of this post thinking it's the $1400 escalated to $27,000.
Never heard of uncaching google. Must be a Tech Thing.
