1984-D obverse error?

Found this 1984-D penny with this thick line. Now seeing as the 1984 no mint mark has a ddo of the ear. This just got my attention. What do you make of it?

Using a wooden toothpick, can you depress the raised area? If so, it's gas.

If not, the possibly a die scratch.

How about a image of the bottom of the bust and the date .
I think your coin is a DDO ?

I do not know what that 'line' is.... I have never seen a plating gas bubble like that....it appears to extend all the way to the rim.... has me confused, maybe Fred H. will comment. Cheers, RickO
