Is there any demand for MS NO STEPS Jeffersons?

AUandAGAUandAG Posts: 25,038 ✭✭✭✭✭

Seems that occasionally I find one is a MS set that has such poor reverse details. Is there any market for these?

Yep. The good obverse looks great in a Whitman folder.

If the nickel is high grade and/or nicely toned, it is sellable.

Who knows? Someone may be putting a no steps Bu Jefferson nickel set together somewhere. It may be more difficult to do then it seems.

I cannot imagine why anyone would want such a feature on a coin...however, I do not understand the attraction of PO1's either.... ;) Cheers, RickO

Ditto! It takes all kinds and our hobby is full of special people. @CoinsAndMoreCoins , I've actually been looking thru my change to find one of those "treasures" to send to you as a gift!

I played along with this nonsense for a hoot! What I'm really looking for are the extremely rare (dated after 2000) Jefferson's in Good-4!

Never have been a fan of full steps... Full Portico would define more of the design which seems more consistent with what grading is intended to do. And that is to best describe the state of preservation of the coin.

I have seen many 54-S like the coins you are describing.
They look like a VG with luster.
