Late Die State 1914-D 1c

Insider2Insider2 Posts: 14,452 ✭✭✭✭✭

The die break up Lincoln's coat is a diagnostic found on one 1914-D die. This is the longest I've seen. Additionally, there is a tiny break from the rim on the left side of Lincoln's coat. I've never noticed this one before. Anyone have a match?

Don't recall seeing the second die crack.

Yep, that crack is one of the diagnostics for a genuine 14-D. I never seen that late die state before. That crack is huge, and the other one is new to me also.

I always thought that this particular die struck up the nicest, most detailed 14-D cents out of all seven used.
