Over the past few months, I have added to my Liberty Head "V" Nickel Collection. These images are from
a photographer I have used in the past - as my YN photographer has recently graduated College in Pre-Med
and is about to get into Med School in Miami. A year ago, he imaged approx. 150 coins - and is almost done
getting them on a CD ....

Here are John Baumgart's images - recently received on a CD.

Picked this up from Rich Uhrich at the FUN Show in Ft Lauderdale - January - 2017

photo 825c-4670-web_zps8u0j6r2c.jpg

An eBay purchase in January, 2017

photo 835c-0882-web_zpsvoueehps.jpg

Another eBay purchase - I had no idea just how hard it was to find a N/C in Cameo:

photo 835c-8114-web_zpsjfecns90.jpg

I don't collect Shield Nickels - but thought this was a great carry-over with the Pattern J-1690 V Nickel:

photo 835c-9227-web_zps7uparx4h.jpg

I stopped by Gary Adkins' table at FUN and here is one of about a half dozen I bought from him:

photo 845c-7186-web_zpsgz1qlogw.jpg

Last year Summer FUN, I got this from Heritage....

photo 865c-8873-web_zpse5f1v3qg.jpg

Another Gary Adkins - January, 2017 FUN purchase:

photo 875c-0816-web_zpsyoq5zxsu.jpg

As I also collect MS and AU 58's along with Proofs, I picked this up on the BST at PCGS in December, 2016

photo 875c-8038-web_zpsbgeuhkxk.jpg

Another Gary Adkins purchase at FUN this past January

photo 885c-6965-web_zpsb2kkp4rb.jpg

I have a few 1889 Nickels - as its my Grandfather's Birth Year - this one came from a dealer at FUN
called NumisAddicts - I also picked up a few coins from him as well....

photo 895c-0568-web_zpslnoljcqc.jpg

Yet another 1889 - ex: HA - FUN auction

photo 895c-5091-web_zpso80wb2r3.jpg

As I mentioned - I also collect AU 58's.... Can't locate a PCGS - so - this will have to do for now [ it completed my set
of AU 58's ]

photo 895c-16004-web_zpsafnsz2qt.jpg

eBay purchase from last June - 2016:

photo 905c-0030-web_zps3zdizd4r.jpg

Searched for many years for an AU 58 of this date - found it on Ben Todd's web site

photo 905c-5384-web_zpsikgtchgd.jpg

I landed this one in 2011 - but never had it imaged : Ex: Stacks Bowers

photo 915c-1301-web_zpsncqma3md.jpg

Spotted this Burst of Color - and although I had a higher graded one, I knew this belonged in my collection:

photo 925c-1755-web_zpskjuatbvj.jpg

An eBay purchase last July ....

photo 925c-3125-web_zpsn096xg0r.jpg

Here's an AU 58 which is an upgrade for my AU 55 - for the life of me - where are the decent strikes for 1893 ??

photo 935c-3710-web_zpstfnhqeb3.jpg

Well, at least this Proof makes up for the lousy AU 58....

photo 935c-8420-web_zps2oj6mdkc.jpg

This is the prettiest 1894 in MS I have ever seen.... Long Beach - Heritage - 09/16

photo 945c-5092-web_zpsyhltjyox.jpg

Now, the Proof Version: Heritage auction in 02/2017

photo 945c-8621-web_zpsmrjur8tz.jpg

Just to remind you, these images are for newps - I don't want to fill in with older coins whose images
have been shown off before... so - skipping a few dates ... and my newest NEWP...HA - 03/2017

photo 955c-2780-web_zpswhgjfqzu.jpg

Bought this MS version at January FUN, 2017 - which came out of a friend's collection [ he has a 66+ now]

photo 955c-7744-web_zpsmhcpndbl.jpg

January, 2017 FUN auction....

photo 965c-4085-web_zpspdgxtar0.jpg

Another HA - auction find - January 2017

photo 975c-6667-web_zpssibcdmtw.jpg

eBay - 03/2017 - decent coin - just not CAC:

photo 975c-8115-web_zpsyglajyyk.jpg

Heritage auction - 09/2016 - although I have another 1899 in MS 64 - it doesn't look like this one !!

photo 995c-0222-web_zps542jmbeh.jpg

Another 1899 for the AU set.... cleft lip version ?

photo 995c-3130-web_zpsujwt7xwk.jpg

Ok, the last one for the 19thC.....

photo 995c-2295-web_zpsc1gag8uq.jpg

I'll finish up for 1900 to 1912 later on.... " The two Dobermans are now anxious to go to the dog park ! "

EDIT:

Thanks for the compliments, guys.

Okay - off to the 20th Century

Nice set of coins! I especially love the '94 and '99 toners.

I only have one of these, I'll have to dig it out and see if I can get a decent photo.

Great stuff, Mike! Maybe the explains the apparent scarcity of high end proof V nickels that I have noticed, LOL.

Thanks, Rick. The two I have now are Rescue dogs - one is from the mountains of Wyoming who was
adopted by a gentleman who had a few thousand acres out there - his wife had three dogs - and he wanted his own dog. He found "Ginja" in the Rescue Assoc. out there - came back from WY with her,
and shortly there after, he passed from a stroke. He also had a home in Boca Raton - where I drove over
to - and brought my male, "Max", a Black and Tan, so they'd become acquainted with each other.

Max is another rescue - but I can trace every moment of his life - and I even have his Pedigree papers
from the AKC. He's the product of a divorce, then subsequently, one of his new owners passed because of a stroke.

My last two Dobes before Max and Ginja - were from Breeders - and got then at 3 months of age.
All have had different personalities - but all four have been as sweet as can be. If anyone has never had the opportunity to become acquainted with the breed, I strongly suggest you do. Don't listen to those
old Harpies B*itch and Moan about they eat kids... they are sweet dogs, easily trained - and make a
perfect family pet - and also a wonderful guard dog.

All my images are on my iPhone - nothing on the lap top.

@MFH... and yes, they are SUPER around children.....Had a young couple over to my house one Saturday, and they had a two year old.... He was wandering around, both dogs in the house. A loud came on the front door... the older one jumped up and stood at the door and the younger (by then 3 years old) went and stood in front of the toddler. The guests were amazed, asked how I trained them to do that.... I said I never did...it was instinctive for them. Cheers, RickO

That's a super 63. Talk about under-graded. The 1910 PF65 with "DCAM-like" surfaces (and not a CAM) is impressive too.

Mike, I notice you didn't post a photo of your 1913.

My current coin collecting interests are: (1) British coins 1838-1970 in XF-AU-UNC, (2) silver type coins in XF-AU with that classic medium gray coloration and exceptional eye appeal.

Very attractive set of V Nickels. That is a very nice 1884 5C RPD FS-301. I had one of those...briefly.

Rick.... I was brought up with German Shepherd Dogs - 2 at a time, actually. When I graduated from college and bought my first home, one of my cousins was a Doberman breeder - and I became enamored with the breed. He didn't have a puppy available when I was looking - but I bought a puppy
from another breeder - who had a top flight female - and was stunning. She was brought up around kids - actually, { friend's kids } and she was super with them, too.

If I had acreage like I did on Cape Cod - I'd have more than the two I own now.

I bought that at Ray Hinkleman's at FUN this past January.
Although I had a pretty decent MS 64, this 63 has better eye
    appeal.
