I do not see the doubling/tripling... could just be the pictures/lighting.....I know there are a few different ones ( I have a couple)... You got it at Walgreen's? It is unusual to see a half dollar anywhere these days.... Hope it is what you think it is... Cheers, RickO

Here guys, I put some arrows to the tripling on the " W " of we .
It's the hot spot on this TDO .

Nice find! Any Silver that is found is cool. About the doubling, I do see the split serif in the left upper part (viewer's left) of the "W" in WE. ;)

Why the dirty one when your coin isn't dirty and there are two others shown on the PCGS page that are clean?

When I was comparing and looking to match up details, I threw this filthy one out and compared the other two clean coins.

If you can see tripling, good for you, your pix just don't quite do the deed even to the point of failing to be able to establish the ear, hair and device shape details.

Where the TV's show crisp details, yours show shadows and a patent lack of detail.

I am able to see the very common split serifs in the IGWT, I can't see the tripling.

I see the lower of the two arrows on the left pointing to a shadow that may or may not be tripling.

Again, if your eyes see it, I don't doubt you, but, these huge pixels ain't showing it and I simply don't believe your photographic device is capable of the resolution needed.

Heck, just compare your overall obverse shot with the true view of the clean coin.

Blow it up on a 40"+ monitor and it becomes very evident.

Dam dude, take a chill pill . The reason I used the MS-62 is because of the die state, or stage .
That's what you should do, is match your coin to the same die state ..
    Keep learning, young grasshopper ...

All discussion of the doubling aside, I always ask for any halves when I make my stops around town. The best was last fall, the night Wisconsin lost to Ohio State when I was handed two Franklin proofs at Speedway. No real luck at Walgreen however, save for a war nickel sometime last summer.

In all my searching of halves; I've only found the '71-D, and '74-D, DDO. I'd love to find a '73-D, or a '77-D. To find a '68-D TDO is quite a rare thing, let alone getting a quantity of 40% silver back in rolls to even search. You did very well- good find!
