    In June 2013 a PCGS G-6 sold for $2820 (Stack's Bowers)
In August 2009 a raw VF-20 sold for $4585 (Sheridan Downey)
In July 2008 a VF-20 did not sell for the $7000 minimum (Sheridan Downey)

It's an R-7, so it an exceptionally rare coin with sparse sales history.

There are 19 examples of the 1806 T-9 die marriage pictured in Tompkins new book Early United States Half Dollars, which makes it an R-6 rarity. It is still very valuable, especially since some sellers will list at the old Overton rarity.

I bought the Jules Reiver example, it was stolen in the mail, recovered three years later, sold again by Heritage.

This is a case of a once extremely rare variety (R-7 and R-8) that was discovered in 1974, that is now not as rare. In the Overton 3rd edition, 1806 O.127/127a was listed as an R-7 rarity. With the Tompkins update, he actually has 19 separate examples of 1806 T-9 (O.127) pictured in his book, and I would expect a few more exist that are not listed, making the variety now R-6 and moving towards R-6-.

It is interesting to see sellers on eBay and sometimes the larger auction houses use outdated rarity ratings to get higher prices.

In F12-15 grade, it would be worth around $7500 as an R-7 rarity (4-12 known), and as an R-6 with about 20 known, the value drops to about $2000-$3000.
