Hi guys, looking to see if anyone knows the history of this box - is this from the same time as the ogh? are there older versions than this? Were they made for a specific occasion. Please note that the outer box is in dark green velvet

Thanks

I don't know of the origins of this presentation case, but it would work just fine for a Morgan Dollar Mint Mark Set (P,D,S,O and CC).

I don't know the history of these boxes, but they are pretty cool. Not sure if these were actually made by PCGS or were just done up by someone else as a promo.

Here's a short set of Walkers that I sold about 8 years ago that were in two of these boxes (holding 10 coins each):

Strange that the plaques on your boxes were set engraved while the OP's plaques are generic

I seem to recall these boxes being offered a long time ago - same timeframe as the OGH.

Would also be nice for a Basic type set of Dimes....Early Dime, Seated, Barber, Mercury and Roosevelt. :)

Very nice. Over the years I have built up a small inventory of wooden coin boxes. Cost of shipping them out with coin auctions is a deal killer.
