Counting out Morgan dollars from a long ago purchase, I noticed this along the rim. On first thought it was damage, but pulling out the loupe was worth it...

TMI!!
Oh, nevermind, good find!
A great find!
A rim burr of some sort. Not sure what the technical name for this type of burr is called though.
That sure is fun to do....done it many times and always keep an eye open fur such picks.
bob:)
Very nice!
Awesome!
lamination(s)?
Nice pick. I like it.
Looks like it to me.
Same here.

Neat. Looks more like it was a sheared planchet fold over piece before the strike as opposed to a lamination though. Unfortunately however it most likely will not be slabbed either way. Cool piece though. 1921 Morgans have some of the most neat errors due to sheer production volume and survival rates.
nice
My theory on it is that there was a lamination/planchet defect. Then during the rimming process that piece of metal was pushed toward the center of the coin, and then struck that way.
