I've heard a TPGS authenticator answer this question at a coin show no matter what the person handed him to examine:

Collector or dealer: Is this real?
His answer: Yes, its real.

Answer:

You will have to join a grading service program or submit it through a dealer in the case of PCGS.

You think those questions are outrageous. Look what I asked a coin dealer how much is Silver worth, when I first started out way back. I asked the dealer, " How much is Silver worth per ounce?" and he said, " 4". Then I asked him, " $400?" He said, " No sir, four dollars!".
