Possible undocumented 1949 D 10c DDO

I like varieties, even the subtle ones. I found this in come UNC dimes and cannot find a record of any 1949 D DDO in Wexler, CONECA, or Variety Vista. From the photos, the most prominent feature is an extra tail on the 9 at the end of the date. Under the scope this is definitely not strike doubling or die deterioration, it is a rotated tail to the number. Moderate spread can be seen in the designer initials, and light spread in the '19' of the date. There is extra fattening of "IGWT" as well. Is it worth submitted to Wexler to get evaluated or just another cool coin to put in the box?
Thanks!

Great pictures. It looks to me to be a die gouge, rather than a doubled die.
I don't know about the last "9", and it's hard to tell for sure, but I see the minor doubling on "19" and the designers initials.
I will grant the extremely minor doubling on the JS and the 19, but that extra tail on the second 9 looks like a die gouge to me. Note the randie die polishing in that area.
Well that is a unique aberration. It looks like the tail of a 9, but like the good Capt. said, there are die polish lines and a die gouge makes sense.... would be strange to see that degree of doubling on only one character (IMO).... Great pictures...Cheers, RickO
Thanks for the ideas everyone! I agree that a die gouge is a good possibility given that the same degree of doubling is found nowhere else on this coin. As far as the pictures, I have a nice microscope in my lab at work, so I take advantage of that in off hours. Thanks again!
